HOMEPAGE
This is it, an online collection of things I would like to
share or keep others informed about. In case you want to reproduce or use
anything from this site, drop me a note, use proper referencing (ask if you
don't know how) and then spread it.
I will try to date everything I post, thus a statement about
the earth being roughly a sphere that is about ok to say now might be wrong if
future science should show that it is not, or vice versa. Corrections will be
posted in here. ;-)

Areas of research interest:
- Freshwater signals/anomalies from seasonal to decadal time scales -
topics to polar regions, but especially in the Labrador Sea region.
- SubAntarctic Mode Water (SAMW) - focusing on variability, extend and
spreading/erosion of subducted parts of the SAMW.
- Oxygen Minimum Zones (OMZ), observational analysis of extent, variability
and processes involved.
General interest in descriptive observational oceanography and climate
research, as well as outreach of new up-to-date general and specific
oceanography and climate sciences to non scientific audience.
Current collection of worth reading articles / sites (Feb.
2010):
is a nice summary of state of the art science about climate research. What
do we know about our climate, what do models predict to come within the
next years. A work I would like to see constantly changing and evolving and
not only being published once - we will see about that.
- http://philip.greenspun.com/ a
personal home page by - guess who - Philip Greenspun a computer scientist.
Many well and not so well hidden, great blog entries found on this site.
Covering, often humerous: science, computers, opinions on evolving science,
life, internet ... not to mention numerous great photographs!
